Love Thy Neighbor as you love Thyself
While we have often heard the phrase, "Love Thy Neighbor" it is often hard to do when our neighbor is our enemy. Still, we strive to love all
beings unconditionally.

Fr. Rizzo once offered a nice practical view on loving one's Neighbor. He said at first he thought unconditional love should be all embracing, but
he found he did not want to be embracing every single human being. He then thought, he could wish everyone happiness and love in their lives.

He found he could love even the most hardened criminal through well wishes for his overall being. And that often he was praying for murders and
such to give up their ways of life and turn to a healthier way of living. A way of living that did not cause others pain and suffering. He realized for
this to happen the dis-ease and unhealthy aspects of their lives must somehow be transformed. He would wish them well, and that their dis-eases
and mis-behaviors would heal and become well and whole.

He found that then he could love everyone, no matter what their background. This is very inspiring and challenging for many of us. Yet, it is what
we are all striving for, a time and place where we can live in Peace and Harmony with one another regardless of who we have been in the past.

If we now extend this concept to political and cultural levels, we may find the Neighbor we wish to extend well wishes to, on our left to be a member
of the Chinese Army responsible for preventing Tibetan Children from crossing the country's borders into India or Nepal. And to our right may be
one such Tibetan Child trying to do just that.

Can we wish well for both these individuals and their families?

They say love can transform the world, and indeed it is the only thing that can! It has been said we must love one another, respect one another,
and treat each other with dignity. This is much easier when we are in an environment of coherence.

A funny thing happened during the TM Meditation experiment in Washington DC. Not only did the crime rates drop, but so did the number of court
cases filed. Also the number of previously filed cases that settled out of court increased. A more harmonious environment actually reflected back
in a more harmonious set of interactions among the people within the environment.

What would happened we started to wish well for all of our Neighbors? Regardless of who they are and what they have done in their pasts? Now,
this is what we are proclaiming when we ask for World Peace. We are asking for Peace for each and every person alive, and yet to be born, isn't
it?

This is how World Peace starts and Crime rates are reduced, those who were creating war and committing crimes have a "change of heart". It is
not those who are not committing crimes that need to change, it is those who are. How often do we pray for them to stop, but do we pray for the
well being. Do we pray for their inner healing were they can find joy in life again, regardless of their past? Or do we condemn "those particular
cases" to a life of endless suffering and thereby, perpetuate suffering in the world on the one hand, while praying for World Peace on the Other
Hand?

This is a major challenge to Humanity at this time, because we are coming face to face with many aspects of our collective past and real needs of
the present at the same time. How often have we seen injustice in the world, and how often have we seen the greatest examples of unconditional
love and compassion. We have been praying for the strength to love, the strength to recognize and change that which needs to be changed in
order for World Peace to finally emerge as a natural way of being on the planet.

And here we are on the Threshold of a Dream becoming Reality, and it rests in our own hands. Can we be the Unconditional Love we have been
praying for? For in the end, how can we have unless we, the ones who have been praying for it start to live it? At some point don't we need to
take the prayers out of moments of Prayer and bring it into our daily lives?

One of the major ways to move into unconditional love is through Forgiveness. Ask yourself,

"What would happen if you truly forgave each and every person and institution and entity in your life? And if you truly forgave everything and
everyone, yourself, your neighbors, what would happen then?" You would be free of judgement, anger, resentment and bitterness wouldn't you?
And aren't those the major obstacles to World Peace?

Imagine growing up in an area where your family has been at war with its neighbors for many generations, and your grandparents and parents
can not remember what is was like to live without war, as they never had the chance to find out? And now we are asking them, "Please stop
fighting and live in peace and harmony with your neighbor who has been shooting at your family for generations." Or "Please stop hating the Drug
Lords who have destroyed your children and your communities youth and turned them into gang killers."

Wow, this is a big task and a big step for everyone. And yet in the worst areas we find the brightest stars. Shining the light of love and forgiveness
into all areas of life for all beings. For those of fortunate enough to not be fighting for survival, we have a responsibility to help our fellow
humanity. We have seen time and time again, it only takes a handful working together in harmony for the betterment of the whole, for the whole to
receive the benefit and become more stable and more harmonious.

We realize it is not always easy to love our Neighbor, but remember we are asking the same of him, and you yourself are the neighbor of your
enemy. And we want our enemies to start loving us and treating us kindly, what better way then to lead the way be example?

We invite to participate in our Forgiveness Prayer.  It is a wonderful prayer which many have found very helpful and deeply healing. It touches on
many aspects of life, and includes our ancestors. Please feel free to down load the audio and text and share freely as you wish. And we look
forward to Creating Peace on Earth with you, when most said it could not be done. When so many said "humanity can not change", or  "it has
always been this way and it always will" we said, "NO!, we chose another way! We chose Love and Peace!" "We may not be perfect but this is
what we chose!" "We may stumble in our actions, but our intentions are strong and rebound, we chose Peace and Harmony!"

Blessings of Love and Peace to you and your family and ALL your Neighbors!

We invite you to join us for a day of prayer for harmony and oneness in the world and the healing of any resentments and obstacles to this
harmony through the power of forgiveness and collective prayer. We have included the following free downloads for your enjoyment and use.
They will greatly explain the role of group prayers of forgiveness may play in the creation of world peace!

On 10 December 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human
Right. Following this historic act, the Assembly called upon all Member countries to publicize the text of the Declaration and "to cause
it to be disseminated, displayed, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without distinction
based on the political status of countries or territories.
"

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (10 December 1948 at the
Palais de Chaillot, Paris). The Guinness Book of Records describes the UDHR as the "Most Translated Document"[1] in the world. The
Declaration arose directly from the experience of the Second World War and represents the first global expression of rights to which all human
beings are inherently entitled. It consists of 30 articles which have been elaborated in subsequent international treaties, regional human rights
instruments, national constitutions and laws.

The International Bill of Human Rights consists of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and
Cultural Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and its two Optional Protocols. In 1966 the General Assembly adopted
the two detailed Covenants, which complete the International Bill of Human Rights; and in 1976, after the Covenants had been ratified by a
sufficient number of individual nations, the Bill took on the force of international law.[2] ~

The adoption of the Universal Declaration is a significant international commemoration marked each year on 10 December and is known
as Human Rights Day or International Human Rights Day. The commemoration is observed by individuals, community and religious
groups, human rights organisations, parliaments, governments and the United Nations. Decadal commemorations are often accompanied
by campaigns to promote awareness of the Declaration and human rights. 2009 marks the 61st.
